I have a disability which makes the length of time for me to complete a task a little longer than most people require. Due to this ongoing challenge, I have acquired a great sense of discipline for the tasks that are set before me. I was born on Offutt Air force base by Omaha, Nebraska on March 4, 1987. Immediately after birth I was pronounced close to death, and was rushed off on aFlight for Life helicopter to a hospital where the doctors thought I would not make it. The neurosurgeon stated that my brain had very little “dense gray matter,” and that my future was going to be very limited. After a month in the neonatal intensive care unit I was pronounced stable enough to go home to be with my family. By age five therapists and doctors finally gave my condition a name: cerebral palsy, and the doctors said that I did not have enough performance in my brain to operate a computer.
In my free time I do a lot of biking. Since getting my current bike in the spring of 2013, I have put on over 2,000 miles. My bike is my main form of transportation.
